Cancer, for many, is a terrifying idea. And rightfully so; chances are you probably have been impacted by cancer or know people who have had or are in the process of dealing with it. This is a sensitive topic, and I won’t make light of it. If you or a loved one have been impacted by cancer, I would like to offer my deepest sympathy and well wishes for your happiness and recovery.
What is cancer?
Cancer is a disease in which cells in the body grow rapidly and uncontrollably. This can result in the development of tumors and can spread to other parts of the body. Generally, it is believed that environmental factors, hereditary predispositions, and behavioral triggers can lead to cancer development in people.
Dealing with the emotional aspect of cancer
We live in a world where many of us (especially men) are taught to suppress our feelings or only express them in ways that won’t “bother” others. This is massively unhealthy. People with cancer and those with a family member or loved one who has cancer can experience a myriad of intense emotions. Life circumstances and society may make people feel like they have to continue going through life “normally.” However, life with cancer is anything but normal. One might experience anger, depression, anxiety, sadness, distress, fear, and much more when faced with bad news. All of these emotions are valid, and it is normal; you are allowed to feel and express them. What you don’t want to do is stifle or suppress your emotions. If you’re struggling to express your emotions or find it difficult to let them out healthily, then therapy might be a good option for you. Therapy often gets a bad stigma, but it can be tremendously helpful and doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you. After all, everyone needs a little help sometimes.
Reducing the risk
There are a lot of things that can increase your risk of cancer. You’re likely to be familiar with a lot of them. Too much sun exposure, smoking, and eating processed foods are a few common examples. Protecting your skin, avoiding tobacco products, limiting alcoholic drinks, and the like are all helpful. Additionally, studies show that foods rich in antioxidants can provide a protective effect against certain cancers.
Black seed oil, for example, has been shown to help stop the growth of tumor cells. Black seed Oil Infused Honey is rich in an antioxidant known as thymoquinone. According to helathline.com, Black seed oil may be useful in treating certain types of cancers. There is also growing research that honey may have some anti-cancer effects.
As research continues, we discover more ways to improve our health and stay healthy; there may come a day when we can beat this monster known as cancer.
